Compatible with both your Android smartphone (4.3 and above) and iPhone (4S and above), the Watch has some cool features – it alerts you with a vibration when you receive notifications from social media, incoming calls, text messages, emails and more, allowing you to get a view to what matters at a glance. It also vibrates if you stray too far from your phone. Some of the other cool features are being able to remotely control your phone to play music, take pictures from a distance (read as cooler selfies with your watch in it!) and also make your phone ring when you are trying to locate it! The feather in the cap would be the USB charger that is cleverly disguised into the strap, which resembles those paper-thin USB drives and takes an hour to fully charge.
The Watch is packed with sensors: the heart-rate monitor is embedded discretely on the underside of the watch face; there’s an accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter and e-compass. It also allows you to track your sleep cycle, distance covered, steps taken and calories burned and also lets you monitor your fitness goals. The water and dust resistant (IP67 certified) Alcatel Watch is equipped with a relatively unknown STM429 chipset and a 210 mAh battery that promises to last upto 5 days. Not much information is available on the memory specifications or the OS that it’s running on though, we’ll update this section as we find out. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Priced at INR 7,999 and available via Flipkart , the Alcatel onetouch Watch promises a lot but can it deliver?!
