All three Android One Phones – Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V have the same hardware and Google controlled software. Spice Mobility has stated that their Android One device will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop by the end of January. Since updates will come from directly from Google, you can expect the same time frame for all three smartphones. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with several enhancements including the new Material design, improved battery life, better security, better sharing, new and improved Notifications and much more. The latest Android version received very positive feedback from the tech community, but the initial user review doesn’t sound very promising. Several users who have upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop have reported severe issues in Nexus devices which makes us wary of the effects of the upgrade on the modest hardware Android one devices. Google will soon roll out fix for the upgrade and the same will also be available for Android One phones. We recommend you to wait for user reviews before you upgrade. All Android One phones come with a 4.5 Inch FWVGA display powered by 1.3 GHz MT6582 quad core CPU with 1 GB RAM, 4 GB storage and 32 GB MicroSD card support. Other features include 5 MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front shooter and a 1700 mAh battery. Google is also expected to launch second wave of Android One phones very soon in India. New Android One phones will come with Qualcomm processors and 9 more OEM partners have already signed up for the project. These phones are also rumored to arrive in January. Source
