Both the tablets are based on Intel Atom chipsets and are based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system topped with Zen UI. Detailing on their specifications, the Asus Fonepad 7 flaunts a 7 inch display with 1024×600 pixel resolution that is standard and is equipped with a dual core Intel Clover Trail Plus processor ticking at 1.2 GHz. For storage, the Fonepad 7 comes bundled with 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded further by another 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

At the back of the tablet there is an 8 MP main camera that is accompanied by a 2 MP front facing selfie snapper for video conferencing. Connectivity features of the tablet include dual SIM functionality, 3G for voice calling, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. A 3,950 mAh battery is incorporated in the device to keep things juiced up.
The other tablet launched in the Indian market by Asus is the MeMOPad 8 that boasts of an 8 inch display with 1920×1200 pixel resolution. The screen is also protected using Corning Gorilla Glass coating on top. The MeMOPad 8 is stuffed with a quad core 1.83 GHz Intel Atom processor that is teamed up with 2 GB of RAM. Like the Fonepad 7, this one also comes with 16 GB of storage capacity and there is 5 GB of free Asus Webstorage space as well onboard. The MeMOPad 8 is given a 5 MP primary camera and 1.2 MP selfie camera at the front. Other goodies of the tablet include a tipped stylus pen, LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth. The MeMOPad 8 is powered by a 4,350 mAh battery that is rated to pump in up to 9 hours of backup.
