This post will be focusing on the specifications of this new tablet from the Huawei bandwagon.
Camera And Internal Storage
The MediaPad 10 Link comes with a 3MP main camera which sits at the rear of the device. Although we have seen 5MP cameras on numerous devices, a 3MP shouldn’t do any harm and should be good enough to satisfy most user since hardly anyone uses a tablet for photography. On the front, the tablet sports a 0.3MP camera which will let you video chat with your buddies. The device will come with 16GB of on-board storage, out of which a part will be taken up by the Android OS and about 2GB will be reserved for apps. Users should expect about 8-10GB to be available for user files. However, the tablet does come with a microSD card slot so expansion up to 32GB will be possible, storage shouldn’t be a problem.
Processor And Battery
This tablet from Huawei comes with an in-house processor, called the Hi-Silicon K3V2. This is a quad-core processor built on the Cortex A9 platform, so you can expect some strong processing power from this tablet. The processor will come clocked at a frequency of 1.2 GHz per core . You can expect the processor to be about as powerful as the Exynos 4412 which we saw in the Samsung Galaxy S3 last year. The K3V2 processor is paired with 1GB of RAM which means along with powerful processing power, you also get the ability of decent multitasking on the tablet. The tablet will be powered by a 6600mAh battery which should give you about 5hrs of screen-on time, with a little variation depending upon what type of usage the tablet faces. We would have liked to see a little bigger battery but we can’t complain, 6600mAh on a tablet is not bad either.
Display Size And Type
The Huawei MediaPad Link 10 comes with a 10.1 inch IPS display, which comes with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The 10.1 inch display is among the bigger ones we see on tablets, however the display should prove to be effective for multimedia and tasks such as YouTube videos. The 16:9 aspect ratio will not find its fancy in e-book readers, so buyers beware. Apart from that the display should be better than what you see on tablets manufactured by Indian and other small Chinese manufacturers.
Key Specs
Price And Conclusion
The Huawei MediaPad 10 Link is priced at 24,990 INR for the Indian market. Although this makes it one of the pricier 10.1 inch tablets in the market, it is at the same time expected to have better build quality. Buyers can also expect Huawei to be more responsive towards their customers’ problems, and buyers can expect frequent firmware updates from the company.
