This phone has a 5MP Primary camera with 2592 x1944 pixels. This autofocus camera comes with features like HDR, touch focus and LED flash for photography under low lighting conditions. A front VGA camera is also present for video calling. These camera specifications are quite humble considering what other manufacturers are offering. Almost all domestic manufacturers like Micromax, XOLO and Karbonn will provide you with at least an 8 MP camera in this price range. The RAM capacity is competitive at 1 GB and the internal storage memory of this device is standard 4 GB which can be further extended to 32 GB using a microSD card. Recently launched ZTE Blade E comes with only 512 MB RAM. Thus as far as memory is concerned this is as good as it gets at this price range.
Processor and Battery
Lenovo IdeaPhone P770 is powered by 1.2 GHz Dual core Cortex A9 architecture based processor along with PowerVR SGX531 GPU. The manufacturing company of the processor has not been specified. Its predecessor Lenovo IdeaPhone K900 was powered by 2 GHz Dual-Core processor family of Intel Atom Z2580. Dual core processor at this price range will be a turn off. Phones like Micromax Canvas doodle, XOLO Q800, Micromax Canvas 2 plus, ZTE Blade E and many more offer a quad core processor at this price range. On the software front it employs Android 4.1 jelly bean O.S. with Lenovo’s own UI on top. The battery capacity is very impressive at 3500 mAh. It gives you standby time of 26 days, and up to 29 hrs of Talk time. This kind of battery backup could have easily supported a quad core chipset too. No other android smartphone is available with this high battery capacity at this price range Display and Other features Lenovo IdeaPhone P770 comes with a 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with qHD resolution of 540 x960 pixels. This gives you a pixel density of 245 ppi which is a good quality display. Lenovo IdeaPhone k900, the predecessor of this phone had a 5.5 inch FHD display, so Lenovo has stepped down the display features in this phone. IPS display will ensure good viewing angles and improved outdoor visibility. Connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA,WiFi, WiFi hotpot, Bluetooth and microUSB. It weighs 162 grams which is slightly heavy for a 4.5 inch display device and is 11.9 mm thick. It also comes with OTG USB cable which allows you to directly connect it to other phones and charge this phone from other smartphones as well.
Comparison
This phone will compete with Smartphones like, recently launched ZTE Blade E (11,999 INR) and XOLO Q800 (10,800 INR) both having a 4.5 inch display and lying in the same price range. With ZTE Blade E you will get a Quad core processor but the RAM capacity will be less (512 MB) also the battery backup ZTE Blade has a comparatively feeble battery capacity of 1600 mAh, which with a quad core processor might drain even more quickly. Xolo Q 800 on the other hand comes with a similar 4.5 inch qHD display and a superior quad core processor. Battery capacity is relatively less, but will provide you with 12 hrs of 3G talk time which will be sufficient for most users. It also has better camera specifications on paper with 8 MP primary and 1 MP secondary camera. Another quad core option in this price bracket is Karbonn S5 titanium (11,000 INR) with quad core processor, 1 GB RAM and 2000 mAh battery.
