The design has nearly identical dimensions to the 2014 version; the only difference is it’s a hair thinner.The newer one comes with Quick-release band, similar to Apple watch.Rose Gold has been added to the 42 mm watch.The display has evolved, Moto 360 (2nd Gen) has 360 x 330 p resolutions with a pixel density of 233 ppi where the predecessor had 320 x 290 p resolution with 205 ppi density.The battery has been increased from 320 mAh to 400 mAh.First Gen Moto 360 had TI OMAP 3 Single-core 1GHz processor and the successor has got the Snapdragon 400 Quad-core clocked at 1.2 GHz.

When asked about the discontinuation of the earlier model, the company cleared that neither they are going to discontinue the older model, nor they have plans to cut the prices. All we can do is to wait and see if the predecessor arrives in the stock any soon, and if yes then how long does is it going to take.
