According to Motorola’s engineer Luciano Carvalho as revealed on Google+, the Lollipop update will soon be making its way into those smartphones that were launched by the firm in 2013 and 2014. Notably, the manufacturer has already debuted with soak tests of the latest update builds for its smartphones in some regions and if the testing is all fine, the update will be rolled out to everyone. By saying Motorola smartphones launched in 2013 and 2014, the exclusive hinted at the Moto E, Moto X, Moto G, Moto G (2nd Gen) and Moto X (2nd Gen). Not to forget that the second generation Moto X smartphones in India received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update sometime in December 2014. The Motorola executive further claimed that there was a delay in the rollout of the update to the smartphones as there were many bugs in Lollipop. Motorola took time to fix these issues and hence, it will be releasing the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to its offerings, skipping 5.0 and 5.1 iterations. When it comes to the new features that we can expect in the Motorola smartphones after receiving the update include functionality and design tweaks, new user interface with Material Design, battery settings panel, lock screen notifications and many others.
