The new Nokia 6 is the successor to the last year’s Nokia 6 and is an upgrade that comes with more powerful Snapdragon 630 processor, more RAM, and a refined design. HMD Global has also opted for on-screen navigation keys to make the interface of the new Nokia 6 look closer to stock Android UI. However, the company has again chosen a 16:9 aspect ratio display instead of an 18:9. Further, unlike the original Nokia 6 model that came with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, the Nokia 6 (2018) features a fingerprint scanner on the back.

The Nokia 6 (2018) has a metal unibody build made of 6000 series aluminum. The Nokia 6 (2018) features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM Nokia 6 (2018) runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and is expected to receive Android 8.0 Oreo update. The company has already been rolling out Oreo beta to last year’s Nokia 6.
The new Nokia 6 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. It is further coupled with 4GB of RAM and 3GBor 64GB storage options. Also, the internal storage is upgradable up to 128GB via microSD card. For imaging, there is a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF and f/2.0 aperture. Similarly, up front, there is an 8MP camera with a f/2.0, 84-degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone also supports the company’s proprietary Dual-Sight technology which allows you to click pictures simultaneously from both the rear and front cameras aka a Bothie. Connectivity options include FM radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. The Nokia 6 (2018) packs a 3000mAh battery that supports fast charging. The device also comes with features like OZO audio and dual-sight video.
Nokia 6 (2018) price and availability
The Nokia 6 (2018) has been launched in two variants – 4GB and 32GB is priced at CNY 1499 (Rs 14,600 approx.) and 4GB/64GB costs CNY 1699 (Rs 16,600 approx.). The smartphone will go on sale in China on January 10 and e-retailer Suning has already started taking pre-orders for the phone. There is no details about its global launch as of now.
