OnePlus 5T Android 8.0 Oreo open beta
While many of us were expecting the OnePlus 5T to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, the company says it did not want users to have a buggy experience. That said, OnePlus has also announced that the OnePlus 5 will get open Beta for Android Oreo within this month. However, the latest release, the OnePlus 5T will get the Android Oreo beta release by late December. Mr. Brian Yoon also announced that OnePlus now has over 250 closed Beta and 15,000 open beta testers. While the OnePlus 3 and 3T got the open Beta update already, there is no word about the stable version rollout. Coming to the stable build, OnePlus says they will roll out the stable Android Oreo build for the OnePlus 5 and 5T in early 2018. While both the phones remain on the same software platform, the OnePlus 5T runs certain new features that are yet to come on the other phones.
Some new features to come
OnePlus is coming up with certain software optimizations with OxygenOS updates. The OnePlus 5T is also coming with a Facial recognition feature that seems to be powered by the OxygenOS. There will also be dual apps mode and a stable camera with the future OTA updates. OnePlus also enjoys an active forum community and the updates and enhancements come with input from the end users as well.
