Talking of specifications, the Xperia A2 features a 4.3 inch HD Triluminos display with X-Reality engine and boasts a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Under the hood is a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor that is similar to the one in Xperia Z1 Compact and the handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. To handle the imaging requirements of the users, Sony has included a 20.7 MP primary camera at the back with Exmor RS sensor, FHD 1080p video recording and HDR shooting mode coupled with a 2.2 MP front-facing snapper with support for HD 720p video recording capability. On the storage front, the Xperia A2 packs 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded up to a whopping 128 GB via a micro SD card. Also, there is 2 GB of RAM in the handset to take charge of multi-tasking. Other goodies onboard include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, MHL, Xi LTE and 2,300 mAh battery with Battery Stamina mode. The Xperia A2 has been launched in a slew of color options such as Orange, Gray Black, White and Lavender and it will be available for sale from NTT DoCoMo starting from mid-June. However, Sony has not revealed any word regarding the price of the smartphone. Moreover, the launch of the handset in Sony’s hometown tips that the global launch of Xperia Z2 Compact is not too far and it could happen in the coming months.
