As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has added a new Media Visibility feature that allows use to set the visibility of shared media in Gallery. The update also brings a Contact shortcut feature with two newly added shortcuts that are very similar to the WhatsApp for iOS app.
WhatsApp Media Visibility
The major feature in this update is the ability to choose whether WhatsApp media will be shown in the media gallery or not. This feature is available in the WhatsApp Data and Storage settings. This feature is enabled by default which means WhatsApp media like images and videos will be visible in the gallery app. If you disable this feature, all the WhatsApp media will be hidden from the Gallery app. You will still be able to see the media in WhatsApp but it won’t be visible in the default gallery app. This feature might not be available for all beta users just yet, though.
Contact Shortcut
Another feature which has been added in this version of WhatsApp beta is the shortcut to create a new group or a new contact. Pressing the shortcut will create a new contact quickly without going to the contact app of the phone. If you want this feature then update your WhatsApp to the latest beta version on Play Store or you can download the update from APK Mirror here. You should be a WhatsApp beta tester in order to get the update automatically from the Play Store.
