After the leaked poster of the upcoming Mi 5X, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi 5X smartphone along with new MIUI 9 will be announced on July 26th at an event in China. Chinese Actor Kris Wu is the ambassador and will be endorsing the phone. “When style and talent collide… the possibilities are endless! *Hint: Mi 5X, MIUI 9 and @galaxy_fanfaan await!’’ reads a tweet from company’s official twitter account.
The latest poster of the phone shows the star holding the phone. Apparently, it has dual rear cameras along with dual-tone LED flash and a fingerprint sensor. The phone is said to pack a 5.5 inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, and 4GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 5X is expected to come in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour options. The phone is said to cost 1999 yuan ($295 or Rs. 19,000 roughly). A high-end variant might also come with 6GB of RAM. There will be 64GB of internal storage capacity in both the variants. The device will arrive with MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The company has already confirmed that it will release the MIUI 9 for its devices before August 16. So, we can expect the beta testing to begin soon after the announcement on July 26. Also, the phone will be released initially in China and it is not yet clear when it will come to other markets.
