The Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched under the Android One Program and is the first device from Xiaomi that comes without MIUI. The device was earlier launched in Black, Gold and Rose Gold color options. The Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red will be available in limited numbers from mi.com starting from 12PM on December 20.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 runs on stock Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Apart from this, the phone also comes with the Mi Camera app for an enhanced camera experience. It is expected to be upgraded to upgraded to Android Oreo very soon as the Beta update has already started rolling out.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display with a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It will be coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The Mi A1 comes with a dual camera setup on the back. The setup features a pair of 12MP cameras, with one 12MP wide angle camera and one 12MP telephoto lens. The rear camera offers a pixel size of 1.25μm, Phase Detection Autofocus and dual tone dual LED flash. On the front, the phone comes with a 5MP camera. Connectivity options include dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and Infrared. Apart from the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the Mi A1 also features an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. It is powered by a 3,080mAh battery and it comes with a USB Type C port.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red has been priced at Rs. 12,999 and will be available from mi.com starting at 12PM on December 20.
